Program: What Does the New Tax Law Mean to You and Your Institution

Speaker: Bruce McGovern

Bruce McGovern is a Professor of Law and the Director of Tax Clinic at South Texas College of Law Houston.  Professor McGovern teaches in the areas of taxation and business organizations. He currently serves as Director of the school’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. He speaks nationally and has presented at more than 25 different tax conferences. He co-authors Agency, Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies (Carolina Academic Press) and has authored numerous chapters in various publications.

Prof. McGovern will discuss how the new tax law will impact the typical HALL librarian as well as our schools and firms.

Panini Options (includes chips and cookie. Pesto can be held or requested on the side).

  • Grilled Chicken Panini – Grilled chicken breast topped with vegetables, goat cheese, and brushed with a roasted jalapeno cilantro pesto aioli
  • Steak Panini – Grilled beef tenderloin topped with sautéed onions, mozzarella cheese, and brushed with a roasted jalapeno cilantro pesto
  • Grilled Portobello topped with tomato and fresh mozzarella, brushed with a roasted jalapeno cilantro pesto
White bean and Spanish chorizo soup can be substituted chips or added to a salad.
